As the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 unfolds on the sun-kissed shores of Seychelles, the excitement isn’t limited to goals and game time – fashion, too, is taking centre stage.

While world-class players battle it out on the sand, fans have turned the surrounding FanZone into a canvas of colour and creativity. From floral shirts and breezy dresses to boldly worn national jerseys, the atmosphere is a parade of personality – reflecting both sporting spirit and cultural pride.

This is Seychelles’ debut as host of a FIFA World Cup event, and the island nation is determined to deliver a memorable experience. The FanZone, located just minutes from the Paradise Arena, has become more than a leisure area – it’s an open celebration of music, dance, food and yes, fashion.

During FanZone Day and the nightly entertainment sessions, the energy is electric. Women glide past in relaxed-fit dresses, often turning national flags into sarongs, while men sport tropical prints, brightly coloured tees and football jerseys. Oversized kits are cropped and styled with sneakers or sandals, while accessories like straw hats and mirrored sunglasses complete the carefree, coastal look.

Even footwear joins the style story – flip-flops, sliders and low-top trainers dominate, pairing form and function in true beachside fashion.

But this display of personal style also carries deeper meaning. Flags aren’t just worn – they’re waved with pride, tied around waists or draped across shoulders in moments of unity and celebration. Fashion here is more than visual – it’s emotional.

“It’s very kid-friendly and beautifully organised,” said Claudia Godley. “What makes this even more powerful is how people from different places have come together – no politics, no religion – just support and joy. It’s been an amazing experience.”

Across the FanZone, local vendors are capitalising on the vibe, offering hand-dyed tees, wrap skirts in national colours and artisan accessories that double as keepsakes. Traditional Seychellois patterns blend with global street style, giving fans the chance to wear a piece of the islands as they cheer.

Shannice Hoareau, a Seychellois supporter, summed it up: “Unfortunately, I couldn’t get tickets to enter the stadium, but watching from the FanZone has been equally special. I’m so proud of how Seychelles is hosting this major event.”

The Director General of Destination Marketing, Bernadette Willemin, underscored the wider vision: “We are seeing a relatively big crowd from the local communities across different demographics. We can see from the grandmas, to the parents and the kids – because at the end of the day, the FIFA Beach World Cup is also a family event.”

That spirit is clearly mirrored in the style choices. The diverse mix of ages, cultures and backgrounds is stitched into every jersey, scarf and beach wrap. Seychelles hasn’t just embraced the world – it’s dressed for it.

As the sun sets over another matchday, one thing is clear – on and off the pitch, Seychelles is playing to win.
